City of the Future – Google Impact IT Camp, Veszprém
The City of the Future – Google Impact IT Camp was held at the Digital Knowledge Center in Veszprém.
Melinda Mészáros, teacher at the GySzC Kossuth Lajos Technikum, Vocational School and Dormitory (assisted by student Edvin Budai), said that the young participants in their project started from scratch and, in just one week, became familiar with 3D printing technologies, programming, micro:bit, and electronics. Each had a specialist role during the tasks, and thanks to their teamwork they achieved great success with their future-oriented creation.
"It was a joint process carried out with the help of The Makers Red Box, Google Impact, the Németh Imre Foundation, and a drone acquired through InnoMax. On day one they worked on city planning; on day two on 3D modeling; on days three and four on programming and micro-programming; and on day five on electronic components.
We also integrated the Németh Imre Foundation's drone into the city design. The student responsible for public safety built a police station where the 3D-printed building had a drone landing pad on the roof. None of this would have been possible without the InnoMax grant, and it's remarkable that the project came to life through the collaboration of four organizations," explained Melinda Mészáros.
