Interested participants could not only learn the theory but also try the aircraft in practice.

The course itself was created as part of a social responsibility initiative. The Németh Imre Foundation in Orosháza recently won the InnoMax Prize again, which allowed further development of its equipment pool. The drone programme was planned for three afternoons, starting on June 9 and concluding on June 23.

In addition to mastering the theoretical knowledge, applicants could also fly drones in practice. The sessions are led by Melinda Mészáros, teacher at the GySzC Kossuth Lajos Technikum, Vocational School and Dormitory, together with József Kappán, who had earlier volunteered to join the teaching and provide equipment for practice.

"I started working with drones three years ago, quickly grew to like it, went through my own learning path, and now I want to help participants avoid the pitfalls and complete the tasks more easily," said József Kappán.

According to Melinda Mészáros, by completing the course participants can obtain an A1/A3 licence, enabling them to fly drones throughout the European Union; the aim is to acquire the knowledge required for this. She added that the students are skilled and highly motivated, asking professional questions.

One of them, Ferenc Kiss from Telekgerendás, was already interested in the topic and had tried flying drones before regulation.

"Since then 6–8 years have passed, and as I work with agricultural machine parts, I thought this activity would be an excellent addition to my job and a great way to gain experience.
I had heard about this institution before and I'm very glad I joined, as everyone welcomed me kindly, they convey the knowledge well, and the practical part is a big advantage," he said.
