Tradition meets experience at Kossuth – 29th Németh Imre Memorial Day

30/05/2025

On May 17, the 29th Németh Imre Memorial Day was held at the Gyulai SzC Kossuth Lajos Technikum and Vocational School. The event once again paid a worthy tribute to the school's namesake, while the institution filled with colorful, community-building programs and festive moments.

At the official opening, Director Diána Palotás-Rózsa and Melinda Mészáros, President of the Németh Imre Foundation, welcomed the participants. One highlight was the ceremonial handover of recreational equipment purchased by the Kossuth Mezgéért Foundation from the proceeds of the 2024 charity ball, which will help students relax in everyday school life.

The day began with a cheerful dance by the teachers, followed by a series of competitions and entertainment lasting until noon. Students enjoyed a tug-of-war championship, basketball and football tournaments, a folk dance house, simulators, an instrument "tasting," as well as creative and eco-conscious tasks. During "ZöldElla à la Rugi Fashion Day," teams created stylish, inventive outfits from newspapers and plastic bags. A sustainability crossword, environmental quiz, English-language contest, and darts added even more variety.
