First competition, international debut – Eötvös students perform well at the EduRobotics Cup

Students from Eötvös József Primary School put their skills to the test against international competitors at their very first robotics competition. Two teams represented the school at the 2026 EduRobotics Cup, and both delivered strong performances.

Held on September 24–25 at Kossuth Lajos Technical School, the competition offered the young participants both an exciting challenge and a new learning opportunity. As they prepared and programmed their robots, they worked well together and persevered in finding solutions to the tasks.

TM Team, consisting of Tünde Rózsa and Martin Erős, scored 150 points: 140 points for completing tasks, plus a 10-point wall bonus. Their robot completed its run in 1 minute 41 seconds.

The members of NZ TEAM, Zalán Gorondi and Zalán Paulik, earned 127 points, with a run time of 1 minute 25 seconds.

This debut was particularly meaningful because it was the first robotics competition—and the first international competition—for all four students. They confidently took on the challenge and showed that curiosity, teamwork and perseverance can lead to strong results from the very first attempt.

The students were supported in their preparation and during the competition by assistant coaches Ádám Szarvas and Márk Lazanyec, working alongside head coach Melinda Mészáros. This was also the assistant coaches' first international robotics competition in this role.

The Németh Imre Foundation supported their participation by providing robotics equipment and expertise, helping the students prepare and tackle the competition tasks.
