The Vörösmarty School project wins the Creativity Special Award
Orosházi Vörösmarty Mihály Primary School received the Creativity Special Award in the Digital Theme Week 2026 competition. The recognition was awarded for their project entitled "Orosháza, the 80-Year-Old City."

The aim of the project was to enable students to explore the sights, cultural values and community treasures of Orosháza in an experiential and interactive way, using modern digital tools. The programme was especially timely, as it was closely connected to the 80th anniversary of Orosháza becoming a town.
Students from the 11th grade of Gyulai SzC Kossuth Lajos Technical School also contributed to the implementation of the project. With the help of Oculus Quest 2 VR headsets provided by the NIA – Németh Imre Foundation, the students held an interactive presentation, during which participants could virtually discover the well-known locations and values of Orosháza.
The use of VR technology provided an opportunity for students to connect with the history and present of their own town not only in a traditional way, but also through a modern digital experience. The programme developed the participants' digital competences, creativity, local knowledge and sense of community at the same time.
The event took place in a cheerful atmosphere, and the presentation was accompanied by a shared discussion and closing hospitality. The success of the project is a fine example of how cooperation between primary school pupils, secondary school students, teachers and civil organisations can create valuable and lasting results.
The president of NIA, Melinda Mészáros, said that it is always a pleasure to be involved in such a valuable and creative project, and it is a great honour for them that the project "Orosháza, the 80-Year-Old City" received the Creativity Special Award.
"We would like to thank Orosházi Vörösmarty Mihály Primary School for the opportunity to join this special project through the students of Gyulai SzC Kossuth Lajos Technical School. It is a great joy for us that, with the help of the Oculus Quest 2 VR headsets provided by us, the students were able to learn about the sights and values of Orosháza in an interactive and experiential way."
Congratulations to the pupils and mentor teachers of Orosházi Vörösmarty Mihály Primary School on receiving the Creativity Special Award!
